Inspiration for this chair and ottoman came from illustrations of winged easy chairs in an early 20th-century publication from the Smithsonian Institution Libraries’ Cooper-Hewitt branch. Developed in England, the winged easy chair arose between the late Victorian and the early 20th-century periods.
